Buildings

ClearlyEnergy is a thought leader in the field of building performance standards. Our proprietary software, Building Energy Analysis Manager (BEAM), aggregates benchmarking data and performs automatic compliance tracking based on jurisdictions specific benchmarking or building performance standards policy. BEAM was developed by leveraging partnerships with the EPA, DOE, and National Labs to ensure we created a forward-thinking energy solution. BEAM is used by a diverse selection of state and local jurisdictions across the country that range in size, bandwidth, and implementation starting points.

ClearlyEnergy works with community partners to add transparency to home energy costs and manage both voluntary and compliance residential energy disclosure programs. ClearlyEnergy developed the Automated Energy Model and the Remotely app to help homeowners complete and review a residential energy audit of their home. This information aids current, and future, home owners in understanding their home’s energy costs, consumption, and emissions and can assist lenders in screening candidate homes for energy mortgages.

ClearlyEnergy utilizes its skills and capabilities within software development, energy modelling, stakeholder engagement, training, research and analysis, program management, and technical assistance to support states, jurisdictions, and organizations with their targeted energy efficiency projects and policy development and implementation. Examples of specific projects include supporting West Virginia in the creation of an inter-agency energy and water use data communication tool; supporting Cambridge, MA in tracking building compliance towards their goal of achieving carbon neutrality across buildings; developing and maintaining Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), the Home Energy Labelling Information eXchange (HELIX) database that populates real estate listings with home energy information; developing the software for NEEP’s Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump List (ASHP) and supplemental sizing and visualization tools; and providing energy burden analyses and greenhouse gas disclosure to financial institutions to support residential loans.
